Well, I didn't get much of a response :) but I went ahead and put up the
software and it is ready to go.  If you've ever been on a MUC (Multi-user
Chat) program before, you'll be familiar with the interface.  If not, then
you shouldn't have a problem picking up on how to do things.

When mention of an IRC convention was raised, I began thinking about the
problem with IRCs in general.  Slow, limited, and bland.  I think that
once you try it, the Virtual Chat Center will be a much more homely
atmosphere for people like us :)

The big difference between this and the other MUCs is that this MUC is
dedicated to the people of the Aa! Megami-sama! and Skuld Mailing Lists.
All is welcome and invited to come join the conversation (if people would
start coming there frequently ^_^)

The advantage of having this system rather than IRC is that Unix based
folks can use this without additional IRC software to be set up by their
system adminstrator.  PLUS, you'll be able to emote, shout, yell, hoot and
holler, and go to your own personal rooms so the conversation can have
some focus.  Start your own shrine! :)

Since this MUC takes place on a good server with plenty of memory riding
on a T1 connection, it will be extremely fast in comparison to DALnet or
another IRC server.  

I hope that people like Hitoshi Doi and Joe Petrow would visit once in a
while so that us normal ML readers can meet the people behind these lists.
And, I hope that all fanfic writers join for a discussion in the fanfic
room.  Most of all, I hope everyone joins us in the Yggdrasil Virtual Chat
Center because Skuld designed it herself ^_^
