  I think the point that is being made is that there are many tapes that 
have a lot of anime on it (6 hrs per tape times however many tapes is a 
lot more than 2 hrs per tape or a LD); NOT the quality of it but the 
quantity!
  I prefer recording in SP myself 
and would rather have LD, but sadly I don't have a LD player :(
