This is not hearsay but straight from the newsletter produced, edited
and checked by AnimEigo.

  Granted, there will be a small cost involved in purchasing these LDs
now. Since the original LD set had OAV #1 and #2 on one LD and #3 to
#5 on the second LD. They will now be unable to fit #3 to #5 on a
single LD but two LDs.
  I suspect that they will not sell #3 to #5 at a marked up price (or
at worst, an extra $10 to $15).

  That I don't mind since I would be getting the best of both worlds
(if the dubbing is done reasonably well). At least I can show the
dubbed version to my friends and introduce them to a cute and romantic
anime without the headaches of reading subtitles.

  But before everyone starts whining about the purity and wonders of
subbed, think of it from the commercial end of matters. A hybrid LD
saves the company creating added stock of either/or types and
commercial penetration of a subtitled set would be greater.
  On the consumer end, they have the instant and free choice of subbed
and dubbed. So for the purists out there, I know which side the
proverbial LD would land butter-side-up! ^_^

  And yes - I don't think anyone could ever replace the goddesses
voices, but I hope that they come damn close to it for the dub sake!
