I suppose it's depends on what you're looking for in erotica, or whether
you're looking for pornography instead. It's the difference, to me at
least, between U-Jin Brand and Urotsukidoji.

That's the core of the problem, trying to keep a character in character
while they're doing things that aren't what you'd expect to be in
character. There aren't too many authors who can pull it off, and those
that do usually are very good at it (the person who wrote the Totoro story
comes to mind). I don't think I could, but then I've never tried.
