Midgard = earth.?

Isn't Belldandy and company(Urd,Skuld and Peorth) the only known goddess that 
stayed on earth? Meaning if the earth is already filled with happiness then it 
doesn't really affect the other goddesses aside from them 


OR 

Did you mean since midgard/earth is filled with soo happiness goddesses will no
longer be required to grant wishes on earth?

First, Midgard is "middle earth", which is the place between heaven
and hell.  Heaven is Asgard.

Since I am not the author, I can only guess : the goddesses, or at
least the Norns, come to Midgard to aid people gaining happiness.  If
Midgard is full of happiness, there is no need for the goddesses to
work in Midgard.  If their work is done, they are required to go back
to Asgard ?
