Shimizu Kenji inquires about Yaohan here in the States. Well, it seems that
they are just about everywhere thatwe have a sizeable Japanese-American
community. As I mentioned, the one in Chicago has an Asahiya Bookstore in it.
It is at the bookstore where I buy all my manga. I've bought RIBBON a few
times before, but I prefer NAKAYOSHI because of "Sailor Moon" "Magic Knight
Rayearth" "St.Tail" "Miracle Girls" "Kaeda Ninpouchiyou" "Azuki-chan" and so
on....
Anyway, as for the cost, and Chris Lee also brought this up, I can get the
latest current issues of evrything at a very reasonable price.
NAKAYOSHI---cover price 400yen---I pay $6.50. AFTERNOON (which I only get
occasionally) it's the same price structure: the current exchange rate plus a
50% markup. AA MEGAMESAMA vol 12---cover price 470yen---my cost $7.15. Even
if a book is special ordered from Japan, the pricing is the same. I waited 5
months to get VIDEO GIRL AI vol.5 for example and paid just $5.75.
And since I subscribe for it at the store, the latest NAKAYOSHI ((or anything
else I might care to subscribe to)) is always waiting for me. I think this is
a pretty good deal, ne?
