sorry man.. bit torrent is the way to go... you get high quality..

So what happened to Edward Chang? I didn't heard that he'd quit or
anything.. just hadn't heard from him in ages... I figured he was just
waiting out the lull that AMS! seemed to have been in.. and was waiting to
just do a big dump of translations.
As to getting the files via non bit torrent methods...

Well.. you could do what I do.. Order the originals through legit japanese
book stores here in the states.. so that most the money goes back to it's
actual author... and then get the fan scanlations to translate your books.

you can get the fan versions on various IRC sites.
