Upon reading the article, I was interested in the statement
that Comic Market "attracted a staggering 420,000 people:
per day, more visitors than the Tokyo Motor Show". I then
went on to find out the attendance of both event.
Comic Market (Comiket) 65 was held between 2003/12/28-30, a
3-day event. The total attendance of the event was
indeed 420,000 people in total, that is, 140,000 per day.

Tokyo Motor Show 37 was held between 2003/10/24-2003/11/05,
a 13-day event. The total attendance of the event was
1,420,400 people, that is, 109,262 people per day.

Comiket indeed has attracted more people than Tokyo Motor
Show in daily attendance.
