Well, I Just checked my sent folder and that message, and it didn't even look 
like it used to. So apparently it didn't even send correctly, but i guess 
you'd have to go to the translation site (Babelfish.altavista.com) and 
compare it for yourself. I'd really like to know if it get's the same degree 
of incorrectness translating to japanese as it does translating to English. 
 
 
As the japanese grand-parent of a friend of mine says: "Japanese, the 
language of incomprehensible jibberish." (at least when compared to the 
stucture of Engligh.)

Anything you can suggest for learning everyday conversational Japanese? I bet 
you are familier with how our domestic anime companies translate things, I've 
noticed that alot of the time there are a great many mistakes even as far as 
the subtitled translations go. They try to follow closer to what is said 
on-screen, and not the actual translation is, some extra notes left out when 
there should have been some, etc, etc. 
 
 
For example; in one of the episodes of Adventures of Mini Goddess, the 
episode that they were reading all the fan letters, and most of them were 
about Belldandy from Gan-chan. The fan-sub made notes about Gan-chan's 
dialect, where in the domestic release here they translated that scene as him 
saying "rat" instead. I swear, hardly anybody gets it right. 
 
 
However, there are times when for the general public this isn't a bad thing, 
that is a bit less work for the companies to do in the end.
 
 
Hmmm, Now that I think about this, I think I'll cc this to the ML for further

Sorry, I have no idea what this random stream of Japanese characters
is trying to say.. (^_^;
I'm sure you've seen how bad the Japanese to English machine
translations are. This is just as bad.

Although machine translations still have a long way to go,
they are still much better than the ones from 15 years ago.
I think it's possible to use them for simple communications,
but you need to keep the original sentences short and simple
and direct to the point.
