Or if you are a certain 'dubbing company' or a certain
person from a certain 'Studio P' or something it
obviously means 'Father'. Just because they are
completely dissimilar words and have no situational
occurances where such a relationship might be
construed by the interaction of Kami-sama with the
characters is no reason for it not to be blatantly
obvious that he's their father.

<sarcasm off>

Truly, even the people who are fond of the theory that
Kami-sama is the goddesses father admit (or will have
to) that the arguments in favor of that are extremely
circumstantial and are based on massive conjecture
with no actual evidence.

Anyone who tells you that father is stated or implied
anywhere in the anime or manga is selling you a line.

And yes, I loathe Coastal Carolina. Not for the voice
actors. Truly, I think they have some wonderful voice
talent. (Example: I really do like the voice actors
for YUA, I really do.) The extensive alteration of the
original script to the CC 'improved version' which
occasionally just completely throws out the japanese
version. (Example: YUA. I have the box set TV. Love
the dub voices, can't watch it because it's not even
the same show anymore. Very sad)

</venting over>

To sum up, Kami-sama, not the father. Never has been,
don't look like he's going to be. Until Fujishima
writes it in the manga that Kami-sama is the father of
the goddesses you can sit it right next to Starblazers
'I am my own sacrifice' and the 2nd and 3rd Robotech
story arcs. Until I see father in japanese in japanese
manga written by Fujishima, the answer is no, and I
stand against that until death(or at least moderate
discomfort).

Apparently Fujishima has a lot of fun making it look
like THE IT Dept. of the cosmos. I can get behind that
idea. I prefer it to making the world like a
beaucratic corporate office,... though there are a lot
of individual offices and things are split up, then
there's the interaction of Ygg and Earth, Earth
spirits, all those little things that keep popping up
everywhere,....

Okay, there's a lot of stuff that gets to show up, but
nobody's really sure how it all fits together. It's a
fun area for specualtion though.
