I'd agree that we're talking basic petting vs. dating
rituals which can be very culturally specific. 

However, Heaven also has its dating customs, it seems.
Urd remembers Troubadour giving her a bracelet while
they were sitting under a tree. The fact that they
exchanged gifts seems to indicate there was some form
of mutually recognized ritual involved.
