Interesting point. Are the bugs Skuld hits the problem
itself (which would have to be the same dimensionality
as Yggdrasil) or the resulting manifestation of the
problem? It's like a code bug in a program. Is the bug
the error in coding or is it the strange behavior
generated by the error and reported by the user?

I can see arguments for both sides, here. I need to go
back and re-read the bug chapters. I have to say,
though, that the idea of Skuld just going around
fixing symptoms without fixing the problem itself
doesn't appeal to me.

They don't have to be stuffed into those shapes, they
could be just markers for the bugs, icons basically.
As for dealing with bugs, Yggdrasil has automatic
debugging routines to handle most of the bugs in the
system. In fact, the "bug zappers" Skuold makes are
just that when you think about it, just another weapon
in the arsenal.

If Yggdrasil could do all that, it would be a simple
step for it to eradicate the bug itself. Since
Yggdrasil can normally handle most of the bugs itself,
if it had the spare processing speed to gather all
that data it would be a simple matter to terminate the
bug itself rather than hand the job off to a harried
Skuld.

If you accept that AMG characters and their roles are
largely based on Norse, then Hild obviously = Hel, and
Nidveg obviously = Nidhog. If you are of the opinion
that Fujishima is just making all this up and the
parallelism is mere coincidence, then they could be
anything.

In Norse, Yggdrasil was a biological organism, a tree,
and Nidhog was another biological organism, a
worm/dragon trying to destroy it. In AMG, Yggdrasil is
a computer and Nidveg/Nidhog is another computer set
against it. Its exact purpose may depend upon how you
view the link between Norse and AMG, but the parallel
is obvious no matter how you view things.

In either case, though, the question of Nihog vs.
Nidveg doesn't matter for the FAQ. ^_^
