Though it was not clear from the movie dialogue itself, the kanji used in the 
movie manga (and I would also imagine, the movie's script) indicates that 
Morgan is a fairy princess. The only other being who might be even close in 
the scheme of things is the ume spirit, Troubador. As such we don't really 
know anything about their extensive backgrounds, what sort of rules govern 
them, and such.

The key appears to be the physical manisfestation of whatever restoration 
program (since the songs of goddesses are programs of a sort) Yggdrasil 
underwent. Other than the Phoenix rising from the ashes type of imagery, I 
don't think much is known about it.

As for the message, all I can say is th at those are not "real" Nordic runes.
