Actually, it's a Divx version. I would advise you get it just to hold you
over until the DVD because even for divx, it's horrible. Not to knock
you're sense of quality, K1, but the thing is that it was recorded on a
camcorder, so the sound is "echoey" and the actual video part is peppered
with a grainyness that drives me nuts. I have also heard that Animeigo and
ADV are currently bidding on rights for the AMS movie (which means the DVD
version released in June is raw Japanese). Since I'm a stickler for quality
in anime that I love, I'd say that this recording of the AMS movie is
garbage, and just wait until the VHS comes out or the DVD, whichever you
prefer (unless you really want to see it, at which point, go ahead and get
the divx). The fansubbed version is decent translation, although it's not
perfect (none of the released anime ever is perfect; there are just too many
differences in culture to effectively translate). If the DVD comes out
before Animeigo and ADV have finished their bidding, I would be willing to
fansub the DVD rip of the movie. Since it's a huge project, I'd appreciate
if you gave me some feedback on whether this is a good or stupid idea.
