I always imagined that the Goddesses "worked" in the same way as a
vampire or the immortals in Highlander.

A traditional view of the vampire mythos is that vampires don't have to
drink blood to survive. They have a strong (really strong) urge to do so,
but if for some reason they are prevented from doing so they won't "die."
As can be seen in the Anne Rice novels or the Rifts RPG a vampire would
go just go insane from lack of blood. The immortals in Highlander work
much the same way. They can be cut/starved/whatever, but they won't die.

I would say that the Goddesses don't age, but unfortunately they seem to
(as can be seen in both the manga and anime). I'll leave it up to someone
else to argue whether or not they stop aging at a certain point.

>Do their angels have to deal with such things as well?

I'd say the angels work in the same way as the goddesses since they seem
to be connected. When Peorth and Belldandy had their "battle" one of the
challenges was the angel tickling contest. Peorth and Bell felt what the
angels were feeling.
