I sent in very early October a request for one of the Megami Movie
prizes a embossed metallic print Movie poster.  It required besides
filling out the form included in Afternoon 600 Yen in postage.  I ran
into problem where I couldn't come up with any Japanese stamps to 
fulfill the appropriate amount of postage to get to the US.  A solution
was suggested by a International Stamp dealer I was talking to over
the phone. 

Solution:
There is an instrument you can use that worked in this particular case.
The post office sells what called International Reply Coupons.  These
coupons cost $1.05 US each and can be redeemed at any Japanese Post
Office for first class postage for a letter to the US.  First class
from the US to Japan is $1.00 US. so its not really that much
more expensive.  So the item cost 600 Yen and as Japanese internal
mail cost 50 yen, we derive a factor of 12 coupons.  Which is what
I used and appeared to have worked.

I am sure that I could have probably picked up the same poster at
Animate or Mandarake in Tokyo for a lot less, but by the time you
figure in shipping and everything it was worth it if you want some
of the more hard to get collectibles (hard to get in the US anyway)
this may be the best way to do it.
