Yes

Talk about strong willed !!!, she certainly is young looking for being
Keichii's mother too.  Or is she?, they addressed her with her first
name/san, which is unusual to say the least.  Also, she cut to the
chase rather quickly for someone who sat on the sidelines for so long
regarding something as important as this.  My take on it was she was
not his mother, but someone well aquatinted and close to the family.
However my knowledge of Japanese is so bad I am always reluctant to
try to interpret too much, and will bow to the knowledge most of the 
other long time members have.

But back to the similarities...Lum's father seems to be pretty strong
willed and quite unafraid of the opposite sex, quite unlike Keichii's
father who seems to be more of the 'worker bee' mentality.  Takano
does resemble Lum's mother though and seems pretty sharp although 
given to jump to conclusions.
