[hoping to distract everyone from the recent troll]

We went to Otakon 1999 in Baltimore this weekend and it was a great time. I
got to see the first 8 episodes of Mini-Goddesses and as some have said on
here, it was extremely funny. I especially liked the episode where Urd
"helps" Gan-Chan with his love life.

The music videos were also a treat. The winner of the drama category was
Record of Lodoss War set to "Duel of the Fates" by John Williams. It was
very impressive (forgive me, I can't remember who made it). There were two
entries that featured AMG -one was the Mini-Goddess episode about space set
to "Major Tom (Coming Home)" and the other was various scenes from the OAV
set to Madonna's "Like a Prayer" (Not as bad as it sounds - honestly)

The Cos-Play was a little disappointing, very hard to hear the people
because they were either speaking with their backs to the audience or no
where near the microphones. A couple impressive looking Mecha costumes, a
Pikachu (complete with light up cheeks) and a life size Totoro - all of
which won prizes. No costumes from AMG - though during the Con I saw a very
nice Skuld costume walking around (well it had a person in it <g>) and at
the Artist's Alley was a woman in a Belldandy costume (red version) that
was pretty nice. Tim got to sit in the photographer's pit so I'm hoping we
got some good pics that I'd be glad to post on the web for anyone who wants
to see them.

Did anyone else go?

Anne
