gosh, everyone else seems to be doing it, I guess I'll finally give in
(also that I actually have some time!)

I'm Christopher Reuben Pascual of Lakewood, Washington. I'm 20 years
old (will turn 21 on May 11; 5 days prior to graduation!) and am just
about to finish my BA in Foreign Language / International Affairs:
Japanese option (of course!) My main interest in Japanese has been the
language itself; I just seem to enjoy it so much. I've studied it for
four years in high school and have taken from 201 to 302 as well as 402
in college.

My main interest in anime started long before I saw AMG; I came in with
such "entry level" anime as Akira and Robotech, and even Megazone 23 II
(I think it was II; interestingly enough, it was dubbed in English and
subbed in Japanese...) Needless to say, after watching AMG, I fell in
love with the series. Before I conceded to buy it, I watched it
innumerable times, renting it constantly from my local video store to
force others to see it as well. Unfortunately they only had 1-3. My
favorite anime anecdote has to do with this. During the time when I was
renting AMG, one time I came to the counter with the boxes for 1-3, and
the clerk looked at the boxes, then at me and said, "Didn't you just
rent this?" I answered yes and said, "So?" I got a lot of friends
interested in the series, but none of us had yet seen 4 or 5. Once when
I was in a Suncoast with one of those friends, I saw tape 4, bummed 5
bucks off of him I needed and bought it instantly (yes, I forgot vol. 5,
we'll get to that in a sec...). That night we all got together to watch
it, and when the ep ended, I was almost lynched because I didn't have
tape 5!

Anyways...some of my other anime/manga favs are Urusei Yatsura, VGAi,
I's, Discommunication (and various other titles in Afternoon relatively
unknown in America), Blade of the Immortal, and just about anything SD.
Some of my non-anime interests (such things exist?) are the martial
arts, watching movies (and not just Hollywood churn outs, but I like
some of those too...) especially Hitchcock's stuff (mostly from the
60's, 70's), and studying Asian languages. I know a little Mandarin,
even less Cantonese and some words in Filipino (my parents
language...^_^;;;). But, I hope to study more of these and other
languages throughout my life. I hope that wasn't too long winded; I'll
get back to my schoolwork now and try to get another summary out when I
can (I think the last one I did was Ch. 116...)
