I've been flipping the mangas... and you know what, you're right! There
isn't any definitive scene showing the past :P. So much for the
"indisputable". Sorry for the misinfo, folks.

Hm. I always thought that the OAV's were part of Megami-world. You know,
sort of like a different perspective on the same storyline. Unless the
director has been taking some creative liberties with the plot. But
strictly speaking you're right in that Fujishima-san probably doesn't have
as much control over the OVA's as he does over the manga.
