subject mail loops
date Wed, 10 Feb 1999 15:48:06 +0900
This morning we had a major mail loop that sent several hundred
mails back to the MLs (seiyuu, tenchi, and megami).
It seems to have been caused by some software at simplenet.net
(mailsender.net), who is hosting the cuso4.com domain.

I put a filter in the ML software to block mailsender.net.
Also any mail with "autoreply" in the subject will be blocked
from now on.

We've had mail loops before, and we'll probably have them again.
If it happens, please don't panic. If you send mails, it's only
going to add to the problem.
I noticed that someone used the web form to unsubscribe cuso4's
address. That's one of the right things to do.

Thanks to Kenji who called me at home.
If you're in Japan, feel free to call me.
(even if you're not in Japan, go ahead.. ^_^;)

P.S. I deleted all of those mails from the archives, so they
won't be counted as part of the stats. (^_^;)
