I think a basic thing to remember is that the Nazis took a number
of things from various traditions and reinterpreted them.

In the case of swastikas the original usage is hundreds of
years older. The Hindu/Buddhist etc. traditions that use
the symbol can expect to be misunderstood, but they aren't
responsible for the way the Nazis used it, nor do they
have an obligation to stop using it. After all we don't
stop playing Wagner's operas, despite they way his music
was used in propaganda...
