In a message dated 97-10-31 00:49:11 EST, you write:
<< I prefer to think of the OMG OAVs as being a rewrite of selected parts of
the AMS manga.
On any point that I was forced to rule canon. I'd go with OAVs over the
manga that cover the same period, but would let the later manga overrule
on any point in conflict. For the most part this isn't too hard.
For an example of how bad it could have been, look at Sailor Moon where
the conversion from Manga -> Anime -> DIC is not just two rewrites but
three sets of authors at work.
One of the examples of the convergence of the later AMS manga to the OAVs
is how Skuld and K1 are drawn. In volume five of the manga, Skuld doesn't
look very much like Keiichi and has very different eyebrows and eyes.
(When she first shows up, she's got huge crossed eyes, just like Lum.)
Now compare this to the two points early in OAV#4 where Skuld and K1 are
contemplating something while putting on exactly the same poses and they
are clearly drawn very much alike. (This seems to be intentional, as none
of the other character's have had their physical appearances and
personalities converge this much over the series.)
