the BMW boxers are unique.  they are horizontally opposed twins.
the original engine design date back to before WW-II.  it's
kinda neat watching the BMW sponsored legend's races - they use
boxers and run them on metzeler tires.  the old pharts, when
they get in the mood, start scraping the cylinder covers
thru the turns.
