Well...guess I should just blurt it out. Yaoi refers to homosexual couplings between men in manga. From my girlfriend's sister, yaoi only refers to parodies of existing series and/or comedies. It's just entertainment for them. If I remember correctly, yaoi stands for: ya = yama wa nai (no mountains, or peaks) o = ochi mo nai (no falls) i = imi wa nai (no meaning) Basically, the stories have no climax, pitfalls, nor meaning.
